Abstract:
Twenty-first-century students are completely different from previous generations: children from the very young years are active users of technology. Hence, the educational system needs to adapt to this change, meet the needs of the generation to maintain high standards, and to guarantee motivation and engagement in the learning process. This course has been designed proceeding from the existing need of integration of the Smart Board in the process of teaching English to young learners. During four weeks fifteen 4-5-year-old “Junior” group students of the “Smart Start International Preschool of Armenia” were taught English with the help of the Smart Board. The results of the course showed that the Smart Board has a positive impact on students’ engagement, motivation, and concentration during the learning process. It enhances children’s attention spans and involvement in learning, and, consequently, has a significant impact on students’ language progress.
