The present Handbook was developed by the AUA Center for Responsible Mining in the frame of the European Union’s Alliance for Disaster Risk Reduction (ALTER) Program funded by the Department of European Commission Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (DG ECHO). The Handbook contains general information regarding mine waste and tailing storage facilities in the Republic of Armenia and statutory frameworks for regulating them, hazards posed by mine waste and tailing storage facilities, and disaster risk management.
