dc.description.abstract | The present project deals with the problem of revivifying the viticulture industry which is in a critical stage in Armenia. Research and practical suggestions have been carried out in the Areni village of Yeghegnadzor region. In this village, we have seen almost all common problems that Armenian viticulture industry is currently facing. Several political and economic factors have created the situation where formerly united farmers are now separated. As a result, farmers cannot extend, or even maintain, the previous production level, because of their economically unviable plot size, high costs of irrigation, lack of fertilizers, chemicals, and fuel for transportation and machinery operations. The gap between privatized land owners, state owned suppliers and processing enterprises bring villagers with the problem of production and delivery. The situation is unnecessary and unacceptable to Armenians as a society. | en_US |
