dc.description.abstract The aim of this Master’s essay is to show the importance of the doctrine of separation of powers and discuss its application in Armenia’s constitution. Throughout the essay the constitution Building process in Armenia is described, (where the discussion is also devoted to the constitutional amendments) by particularly emphasizing the concept of separations of power, which is one of the main factors in democracy and the cornerstone of modern government. The essay tries to find out to what extent the current Constitution of Armenia corresponds to the requirements of the Constitution of a democratic state in terms of separation of powers. Throughout the essay it is argued that though formally the concept of the separation of powers exist in constitutional level, there are some problems with its practical implementation. en_US
