dc.description.abstract Considering that this study was intended to measure Armenia’s progress in good governance and accountability in order to meet the standards of MDGs by 2015, the World Bank’s Government Effectiveness descriptor was chosen as a criterion to test the level of progress that the Republic of Armenia has made in public administration, in building the capacity of public institutions, public access to information, etc. The other criterion was the World Bank’s Control of Corruption qualifier, which measured the level of progress that the Republic of Armenia has made in the fight against corruption. The study shows that even though the Republic of Armenia has realized significant steps in the fight against corruption and in enhancing the effectiveness of Government, there is a need for further reforms and institutional capacity building in this area. en_US
